Clinical Proteomics Laboratory
The Clinical Proteomics Laboratory, located in the UC Davis School of Medicine, has formal links to two Affiliated Laboratories located off-site. These Laboratories are directed by scientists associated with the CNPRC, and while they provide a broad range of services to the research community (including assays on human tissue), they also provide services to nonhuman primate researchers using species-specific reagents.
The Clinical Proteomics Laboratory offers bead-based multiplex immunoassay test systems to enable the detection and measurement of multiple proteins simultaneously and quantitatively in a single test sample. Instrumentation consists of both the Luminex and Bio-Plex systems.
The services offered through the laboratory extend to all researchers and clinicians at UC Davis as well as other institutions. In addition, the Clinical Proteomics Laboratory provides specialized expertise in the analysis and computational modeling of complex data generated on multiple analytes in preclinical and clinical samples.
Core services are organized into three components:
- Client-driven custom assay development
- Analyte detection by commercial kits (e.g., multiple cytokines and chemokines; biomarkers for cancer and other diseases)
- Serodetection for infectious agents.
