Rhesus macaques’ life spans are about 18 years in the wild; at the CNPRC, with good nutrition and excellent medical care, these animals can live to the old age of 38 years. There is a large colony of geriatric animals at the CNPRC, which are studied to learn more about healthy aging. You can see two healthy geriatric females in this photo.
